Need something else to read about other than Spain – Portugal?
We have some juicy transfer gossip just for you.
So let’s talk about the club game while we have a few hours before the World Cup marathon kicks off.
According to SportBild, Pep Guardiola’s first signing at Manchester City, İlkay Gündoğan is set to move to Barcelona for a reported €50m. Barcelona do need a replacement for Andrés Iniesta, and the City midfielder has revealed that he came close to signing for Barcelona in 2016. However, we just cannot see the German swapping City blue for the Blaugrana, or Barcelona shelling out that kind of cash for a soon-to-be 28-year-old midfielder who just back from a serious injury one year ago.
While Arsenal are very close to a €30m deal for 22-year-old Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, Unai Emery looks to further bolster his defence by adding Chelsea‘s David Luiz. According to the Guardian, the Gunners have already had an €18m bid rejected for the Brazilian.
This move would be a bit of an awkward one, as Emery decided to send Luiz back to Chelsea just two months after taking over at PSG.
David de Gea agreed to a five-year extension at Manchester United before his infamous howler in the 3-3 draw with Portugal.
Real Madrid signed teenage sensation Rodrygo from Santos for a reported €45m, with the Brazilian side making an official statement about the matter.
