Welcome to Monday’s round-up of all the latest news and rumours.
A story in Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Barcelona rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain to see Neymar return this summer.
The Brazil international is believed to be keen to depart the French capital after six years in which he has flattered to deceive in Ligue 1.
Neymar is thought to be desperate to back to Camp Nou but that proposal has been turned down by the Blaugrana heirarchy.
The 31-year-old’s wages – even with a pay cut – would have been too much for Barça at this moment in time.
But Mundo also say that the club were concerned that Neymar’s return would cause issues within the squad.
It’s the second time that the striker has been offered to his old side in recent seasons.
There are conflicting reports about Marcus Rashford in the press this morning.
Bild say that the Manchester United striker is of interest to Paris Saint-Germain, however Fabrizio Romano insists that the striker is on the verge of signing a new deal at Old Trafford.
Andre Onana’s move to United is on the verge of completion with the Daily Mail saying that the goalkeeper should be announced on Wednesday.
Romelu Lukaku is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to stay at Inter.
Lukaku was due to go back to Chelsea after his loan at San Siro, but the Belgium international is so desperate to stay with the Nerazzurri that he will forego £1m per season.
Liverpool’s long-rumoured bid for Khéphren Thuram will not be happening any time soon.
That’s according to the Independent who say that the Reds are moving on after finding negotiations difficult with Nice.
And a remarkable report from L’Equipe claims that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is in talks with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ettifaq recently hired Steven Gerrard as their new manager and the former Reds midfielder has wasted no time in trying to raid his old side.
Rumours circulated over the weekend that Paul Pogba could be set for a switch to Saudi Arabia after he was spotted in the country.
But that is apparently not the case according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, with Pogba just enjoying some time off and desperate to remain at Juventus.
Dušan Vlahović’s future at Juve however, is up in the air.
A story in L’Equipe on Monday has suggested that the Serbia international could be leaving the Bianconeri in the coming weeks with both Chelsea and PSG interested.
Axel Disasi is widely seen as one of the most promising youngsters in Europe and a story in Foot Mercato has claimed that Manchester United and Newcastle are targeting the Monaco man.
Paulo Dybala’s future was the subject of rumour over the weekend with Chelsea defender Thiago Silva calling for the Argentina international to join him at Stamford Bridge.
Dybala was then asked about those links as he landed back in Rome after his summer holidays and insisted that he is staying in the Italian capital.
“I’m happy to be at Roma, of course,” he told reporters.
“Am I staying here? Yes we are starting training tomorrow.”
Sunday was a busy day in the transfer market with a number of big-money and big-name moves being completed.
Lucas Hernández left Bayern Munich for PSG whilst Brenden Aaronsen joined Union Berlin on a season-long loan from Leeds.
