We’re approaching the halfway point in the week and boy, do we have some transfer gossip for you.

Domestic deals

After selling Timo Werner to RB Leipzig, Chelsea could accelerate their efforts to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back from Barcelona to the Premier League, says Fabrizio Romano.

And the Guardian report that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants to rip up his attack and start again, and could also allow Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Manchester United could face competition from other clubs in the Premier League for £35m-rated PSV winger Cody Gakpo, report the Telegraph.

While former Manchester United striker Javier Hernández – now of LA Galaxy – has offered to return and play for the club for free. “If United came for me then I’d say ‘yes, I’ll play for free.’ Of course, you know, I’d do that,” said the Mexican international.

And West Ham are closing in on the signing of Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa, according to Croatian outlet Index.

On the continent

Manchester City have dismissed reports of a fee being agreed with Barcelona for the transfer of Bernardo Silva, with the Daily Mail’s Jack Gaughan reporting that the Portuguese playmaker would cost at least £80m.

Juventus are “leading the race” to sign Barcelona forward Memphis Depay on a two-year deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

But Juve have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Nikola Milenković, with Football Italia reporting that the Serbian defender is close to extending his contract with Fiorentina.

Sky Italia claim Fiorentina are confident about their chances of signing Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this summer, while Fabrizio Romano claims Villarreal are keen on the Argentine international along with fellow Spurs outcast Tanguy Ndombele.

And 34-year-old ex-Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has rejected several offers from MLS clubs this summer and is keen to remain in Europe, report Marca.

“Juventus offered him a contract worth €5m, I saw it with my own eyes.

“He didn’t want to end his career with the Bianconeri due to the rivalry with Napoli, so he refused their offer and decided to accept our proposal.”

That was Galatasaray vice president Erden Timur claiming the Turkish giants beat off competition from Juventus to sign Dries Mertens from Napoli.
