A report by Sport1 (h/t Manchester Evening News) states that Jamal Musiala does not intend to leave Bayern Munich, amidst transfer links to Manchester United.

Earlier this week, United were said to be monitoring his contract situation at Bayern Munich. The youngster’s contract at the Allianz Arena runs out in the summer of 2022 and he is yet to sign a new deal.

But now, it is said that he is happy at his current club and is ‘relaxed’ about his future. This is despite Bayern Munich’s unwillingness to meet his wage demands.

Musiala has close to 18 months left on his current contract and has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Manchester United being mentioned. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

A return to England?

The 17-year-old was signed by Bayern’s youth academy from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. Before this, he spent 8 years in London. The attacking midfielder was promoted to the senior team last summer.

He has burst onto the scene since then. Musiala has already made 13 Bundesliga appearances, albeit most of them coming from the bench. In addition to that, he has also played thrice in the Champions League.

The youngster has already racked up 3 senior goals and is one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe. Musiala is an attacking midfielder by trade but can also be deployed on the wings.

United have signed Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo in the past 6 months. Both teenagers are attacking players and thus, missing out on Musiala might not sting the club too much.

However, playing in the first-team of Bayern at the age of 17 is obviously a sign of his potential and ability.
