According to Spanish outlet Sport.es (h/t Futaa), Barcelona are prepared to offer a new, two-year-long contract to Manchester United transfer target, Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman is in the last year of his deal and will be a free agent in the summer of 2022 provided he does not renew his deal. The Red Devils are believed to be interested in the player and can even make an approach before the end of the year.
But things could be complicated if Dembele accepts the new deal. The report mentions that the two-year contract includes a pre-negotiated pay cut or the club would also provide another option to accept a three-year extension with an even lower salary.
Barcelona set to offer new contract to Manchester United transfer target, Ousmane Dembele.
The 24-year-old winger has seemed like a shadow of his former self ever since he joined the Catalan giants from Borussia Dortmund for a £120million fee all those years back. Injuries and inconsistent displays have marred his time at Camp Nou.
This deal won’t really make a lot of sense for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. After all, there is no real shortage of wingers despite the club selling Daniel James to Leeds United on deadline day this summer.
The club brought in Jadon Sancho from Dembele’s ex-club, Dortmund, in a highly expensive deal and also have the young duo of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood manning the flanks if and when needed.

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the biggest prizes in his career playing out wide and there is also teenager Amad Diallo with his boundless talent and potential.
In such a case, signing Dembele would make sense if the winger was in the last few months of his contract. But if he renews his contract, John Murtough should know that this is a deal to avoid given the finances and injury record in question.
