Foot Mercato are reporting that Trabzonspor are attempting to hijack Beşiktaş’ move for Arsenal winger Nicolas Pépé (28).

As reported by L’Équipe, Pépé’s move to Beşiktaş was all but concluded. The Ivory Coast winger had undergone a medical and the final touches needed to be applied before the finalisation of the deal. However, at the last minute, the deal was re-visited, and both clubs therefore had to return to the negotiating table. It is unclear who sought to alter the original agreement.

Whilst Pépé may ultimately still make the move to Turkey, it may not be to Beşiktaş. According to Foot Mercato, Trabzonspor are attempting to hijack the deal. The Turkish club are advancing and hope to soon conclude a deal to bring the out-of-favour Arsenal winger to the club. Should a deal be reached, Pépé would sign a one-year deal with Trabzonspor. Pépé’s contract at Arsenal runs until the end of the season, but it now looks unlikely that he will see it out.
