Wout Weghorst could finally be on his way out of Turf Moor, after an agreement was struck to lure the player back to Turkey.
Trabzonspor look set to have made another breakthrough in their quest to sign a second player from the English Championship.
According to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the Turkish Super Lig side have agreed a deal to lure Burnley striker Wout Weghorst back to Turkey.
Weghorst hasn't endured a successful time in Lancashire, failing to live up to expectations during the second half of the 2021/22 season as the Clarets were relegated back to the second tier.
He hasn't featured for the club since then, going out on loan on three occasions as he looked to secure a regular amount of game time and potentially put himself in the shop window.
The Dutchman, who has also shone for his country in recent years, as well as out on loan, did very well during his first temporary spell away from Turf Moor.
He spent the first half of the 2022/23 season at Besiktas - and proved to be a major asset there - doing enough to earn himself a loan switch to Premier League giants Manchester United.
The striker may not have been able to get himself on the scoresheet for the Red Devils, but he spent last season in the German top tier with Hoffenheim and registered a respectable number of goal contributions there.
With his previous loan exits and the Clarets' return to the second tier in mind, an exit for the forward seems inevitable this summer and it's thought that the player is keen to leave Lancashire once again in the coming weeks.
The Clarets' boss Scott Parker is happy to work with the player, but the player's mind seems to be made up and a return to Turkey could now be on the cards.
Journalist Sabuncuoglu believes an agreement has now been struck for Weghorst to make the move to the Turkish side.
It's now believed that the player is waiting for the two sides to agree a time for a medical to be penned in, before he potentially finalises his switch to Abdullah Avci's side.
He isn't the only player who could be set for a move to the club, with West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuslu potentially closing in on a switch to the Turkish Super Lig outfit.
Weghorst is seemingly desperate to leave, so this move will come as a relief to him.
He has also thrived in Turkey in the past and that's a good sign for him, as he looks to continue thriving for both club and country.
The Clarets will also be able to get his wages off the bill if he leaves, which could allow them to bring in some extra players and improve their squad depth further.
And the Turkish side will be getting a player who has performed well at the top level before.
