After just one season at Toulouse FC, England youth international Charlie Cresswell is being linked with a move away from the club.
Cresswell made the switch from formative club Leeds United to Toulouse last summer. The centre-back excelled in his first year in France, slotting in seamlessly. However, reports in England have been linking him with a move, with a host of Premier League sides reportedly interested in the defender.
Speaking in an interview with L’Équipe, ahead of the return of Ligue 1 football, Le TéFéCé’s sporting director has responded to the rumours. “We are delighted by the amount of interest in our players,” began Viktor Bezhani, in response to interest from Cresswell, but also the likes of Jaydee Canvot (linked with Aston Villa), Yann Gboho (linked with Olympique Lyonnais, Lille OSC, and Besiktas), Guillaume Restes, and Cristian Cásseres Jr.
Toulouse’s sporting director continued: “It shows that we are doing good things and that the rest of Europe is watching us. It isn’t a secret, if a good offer arrives, we’ll have a look at it.” Le TéFéCé therefore aren’t in a position to dismiss interest in Cresswell, whose reputation has been enhanced thanks to his debut season in France and his performances at the U21 Euros.
