Toulouse reject Aston Villa’s Jaydee Canvot offer

Toulouse FC have rejected an offer from Aston Villa for Jaydee Canvot (19), according to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Canvot broke through at formative club Toulouse last season and has been identified by Get French Football News as a prospect to watch in our pre-season Ligue 1 guide. A versatile player with great anticipation and strong on the ball, he has often played at centre-back, but he is also capable in midfield, as he showed in Le TéFéCé’s win over OGC Nice on Saturday.

His performances last season have caught the eyes of many big clubs around Europe, including Aston Villa, who have been lining up a move for the Frenchman for much of the current transfer window.

However, Hawkins understands that Toulouse have rejected Aston Villa’s bid for the player. The Premier League side are now readying a new offer for Canvot, who is valued at €20m by Toulouse.
