Tottenham Hotspur have seen their move for Sporting Lisbon right-back Pedro Porro fall through, reports The Athletic.

The Portuguese top-flight club reneged on the terms of the proposed deal.

Talks between both clubs had reached an advanced stage, with the 23-year-old set to join Spurs.

Porro has been left upset with the development, with the Spaniard now set to remain with Sporting.

The club had lined up Barcelona right-back Hector Bellerin as a potential replacement.

However, the proposed loan move for Porro’s compatriot has been affected too.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham have plans to go after another right-back.

The January transfer window closes tomorrow, and there is little time left for talks to start with other clubs.

The north London club may end up without a new right-back this month but are getting a striker.

According to The Athletic, Spurs are set to snap up Chelsea’s academy striker Jude Soonsup-Bell.

The 19-year-old will be joining Tottenham for nothing, but the Blues included a significant sell-on clause in the deal.

He has just six months left on his current contract and Chelsea are hoping they will get a good sum from any future sale.

Soonsup-Bell has agreed to personal terms with Spurs and medical tests are scheduled for today.

The Chelsea academy graduate will link up with the Tottenham under-21 side, and he could be loaned out in the summer.

Soonsup-Bell could help lift Spurs under-21 up the Premier League 2 table, where they currently languish in second-bottom.
