Tottenham's Emerson Royal: 'My dream is to play for Flamengo one day' | OneFootball

Considered by many to be one of Brazil’s full-back ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Tottenham’s Emerson Royal has publicly confessed his dream of, one day, playing for Flamengo.

The 23-year-old, while also mentioning his admiration for Atlético Mineiro, did not hesitate to answer after being asked whether or not he would wear the famous red-and-black shirt.

“Who wouldn’t play for Flamengo? My dream is to play for Flamengo one day,” he told Coluna do Fla’s Fabiano de Abreu.

“It is the only club in Brazil today that comes close to the level of Premier League clubs.”

Considering both his status with Tottenham and the Brazilian national team with the World Cup coming up, this revelation will now leave Flamengo supporters wondering if the club can secure a seemingly unimaginable loan move.

Emerson arrived at Tottenham from Barcelona last summer in a €30m deal and is under contract until 2026.
