Tottenham Hotspur’s Carabao Cup clash against Leyton Orient in jeopardy

As reported by the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur’s Carabao Cup clash against Leyton Orient is at risk after a number of players from the League Two outfit tested positive for coronavirus.

Tottenham were pencilled to face off against the League Two side on Tuesday in the third round of the Carabao Cup. It was going to be the third away game in a row for Jose Mourinho’s men, with the match scheduled to take place at The Breyer Group Stadium.

However, the club has confirmed that a number of their players have been tested positive for the virus, casting doubts on whether the match will go through. An official statement released by Leyton Orient read (h/t Mirror):

According to EFL rules, if a club is unable to fulfil its obligation to play due to coronavirus then they must pay for the opposing team’s expenses. Although, it is unlikely that Spurs would enforce such a move given the current financial situation of the EFL clubs. (h/t Mirror)
