With the football on hold at the moment, we’ve been thinking about who gets in Tottenham’s all-time XI.
Yesterday we chose Mike England as the first centre-back. Today we’re choosing his partner.
Here are the nominees …
There have been no trophies in Jan Vertonghen’s time at Tottenham but there is no doubting that the Belgian has become a modern day great, playing over 300 times for the north London side.
An FA Cup winner in 1991 and a lynchpin of the last truly great Spurs side under then manager Terry Venables.
Chronic knee injuries plagued his career but even despite that King has gone down in Tottenham history as one of their legends. A modern day defender who really could do it all.
Here’s how the team is looking so far …
GK: Pat Jennings RB: Sol Campbell LB: Gary Mabbutt CB: Mike England CB: Ledley King
Check back tomorrow when we will be choosing the first … midfielder!
