With the football on hold at the moment, we’ve been thinking about who gets in Tottenham’s all-time XI.
Yesterday we completed our back four. Today we’re choosing the first of three midfielders.
Here are the nominees …
Mercurial, visionary, genius – Chris Waddle was all of these things but his best years came a bit later at Marseille so he doesn’t quite get into this best ever XI.
Before Gareth Bale there was Cliff Jones, the original Welsh wizard. A tricky winger who starred for Spurs over 10 years between 1958 and 1968.
There’s an argument to say that Glenn Hoddle is the best technical player English football has ever produced. Just a cursory glance at his finest moments on Youtube will tell you that he deserves a place in this side.
Here’s how the team is looking so far …
GK: Pat Jennings RB: Sol Campbell LB: Gary Mabbutt CB: Mike England CB: Ledley King CM: Glenn Hoddle
Check back tomorrow when we will be choosing the second midfielder!
