Tottenham Hotspur urged to sign Lewis Dunk over Joachim Andersen of Fulham

Speaking to This is Futbol (h/t Brighton and Hove Independent), Graham Roberts stated that he would rather Tottenham Hotspur sign Lewis Dunk over Fulham defender, Joachim Andersen.

Both centre-backs played in the Premier League this season and finished in similar positions with their teams. The Danish defender played 31 times in the league for Fulham but could not save them from the drop.

Brighton, with Dunk in their defence for 33 league games, survived and finished 2 places above the Cottagers in 16th. Dunk, 29, has been at the Amex for close to 8 years now after moving from Bristol City in 2013.

As for Andersen, the 25-year-old recently signed for Fulham last year. According to a report by football.london earlier this year, covered by ToTheLaneAndBack, Dunk and Andersen caught the eye of Spurs before the summer transfer window.

And Roberts, who starred for Spurs in the 1980s, thinks that the club should go for Brighton’s Lewis Dunk instead of Joachim Andersen – if they do end up going for either of them. Spurs really could use men at the back before the next season starts.

They do have cover for Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld in Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon; but, they could do with someone who can boast the experience of playing regular Premier League football.

Spurs could have another position they would need to prioritize. Harry Kane is consistently linked with an exit from the club and Manchester United as well as Manchester City are interested- but Daniel Levy has vowed to protect the club’s interest. (h/t football.london)
