Tottenham Hotspur told £88m fee for Harry Kane will be “good business” as Bayern Munich lurk

As per German outlet TZ (h/t Express), Bayern Munich are prepared to pay a fee of £88million fee to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

The England international is in the final two years of his contract which expires in the summer of 2024. Despite this knowledge, the Bavarians are said to be keen on spending the cash next summer to sign the centre-forward.

It seems that they are desperate for a striker and for a good reason, considering legendary Bayern centre-forward Robert Lewandowski left for Barcelona this summer. According to former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson, it’s a deal that would be good business for the Lilywhites considering the circumstances.

He told Football Insider (h/t Express):

Robinson has got that right. He is invaluable and arguably irreplaceable. While teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have mixed and matched their combinations up front, our number nine has been the same for several years.

The centre-forward position in the starting XI is an area we have never had to worry about when Kane has been fit. Hopefully, it doesn’t come to a situation where Kane has just one year left on his deal at the end of this season.

A silverware or at least a promise of challenging for serious silverware under manager Antonio Conte would be a nice little nudge to Kane in favour of staying at N17. Then, there is also Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal-scoring record to break!
