Tottenham to take part in a pre-season tournament with Arsenal and Chelsea

According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will participate in a pre-season tournament with London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

With the 2021/22 Premier League season just over a month away, teams are jotting out plans for the pre-season camp. While clubs would usually fly off for tournaments in the USA or Asia, the pandemic and the travel restrictions that come along with it have made that a no-go.

As a result, Tottenham will now be playing two of their arch-rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea in the lead-up to the Premier League campaign. The tournament, named The Mind Series, will go down in the first week of August, with all the proceeds from the matches set to go to charity.

Tottenham will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, August 4 (7.45 pm) and then will play hosts to Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 8 (2 pm). The other two London rivals will face each other at the Emirates Stadium on August 1 (3 pm).

Upon the announcement of the series, Spurs’ managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, said:

“We are delighted to be participating in The Mind Series – another fantastic example of how football clubs can unite in support of such important causes. We expect the matches to be fiercely competitive London derbies that will get the fans excited for the season ahead, whilst providing perfect preparation for the players. “The interest this will create will in turn provide a huge and much-needed boost to Mind – a charity that has such a vital role to play in the lives of so many following the difficult times we have all experienced – as well as our own Foundations.”
