Tottenham sign Serie A goalkeeper as Hugo Lloris successor | OneFootball

Tottenham have completed the signing of Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario subject to international clearance.

He joins the Premier League side until 2028 and will wear No. 13.

The 26-year-old spent two seasons with the Serie A outfit, where his performances earned regular call-ups to the Italian national team.

He was recently a member of Roberto Mancini’s squad which secured a third-place finish at this month’s Nations League finals.

A reported €19m deal sees the goalkeeper in line to become the Lilywhites’ long-term successor for outgoing stopper Hugo Lloris.

Lloris has signalled his intention to pursue a new challenge after spending 13 years at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Manager Ange Postecogolou turned to Vicario after his side were reportedly priced out of a move for a want-away David Raya by Brentford’s valuation.
