Tottenham set to earn cash windfall from Edwards joining Sporting Lisbon
Tribal Football
Tottenham are set to receive a tidy sum of cash after former academy star Marcus Edwards completed his transfer to Sporting.
The attacker was a part of the Spurs academy since he was eight years old, and played one senior game before joining Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2019.
He has now gone to Sporting, and Spurs will benefit from a 50 percent sell-on clause they added to the contract.
The 23-year-old's transfer is said to be worth roughly £12million, per The Sun, which means Spurs are in for a £6 million windfall.
Edwards managed seven goals and three assists for Vitoria so far this season.
