Conte leaves Tottenham in fourth place in the Premier League and departs after his extraordinary outburst against his own team earlier in the month.

Spurs threw away a two goal lead at Southampton to draw 3-3 before the international break, which then saw the former Juventus man hit out at his ‘unacceptable’ players and also call into the question the entire culture at the club.

That has become the straw that broke the camels’ back with Spurs confirming via their official website that Conte has left with immediate effect.

The club have also confirmed that Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini will take charge until the end of the season.
