Tottenham are still interested in the possibility of signing Gerard Deulofeu next summer despite their failed move for the player in the January transfer window.

Daniele Longo has reported that the Spaniard’s move to the Londong giants was pretty much wrapped up and an agreement with Udinese about to be reached, before the player opted for surgery on his knee. He is now keen to return to action stronger than ever.

Udinese have not communicated the recovery period for the player but the expectation is that he will return in three months from now and he will still be a vital player for the Friulani, when he returns to action for Andrea Sotti’s side. And Spurs remain interested in him, so do Roma, who see him as a potential replacement for Nicolo Zaniolo. A summer exit is still very much possible for the player, who has had stints at Everton and Watford in the Premier League.
