Fiorentina name price tag for Tottenham Hotspur target Nikola Milenkovic following Newcastle United enquiry

According to The Sun (h/t Yorkshire Evening Post), Fiorentina have named a price tag for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur target Nikola Milenkovic after Newcastle United enquired about his availability. The latter have been active in the January transfer market, and their attempt cannot be overlooked.

The Serie A club have given a valuation of £37.5million for Milenkovic’s services as Newcastle try to bolster their backline. The Toons are currently engaged in a relegation battle and are desperate to plug the leakage of goals at the back.

Tottenham would need to be wary of the Magpies’ attempts, as they have already brought in Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid and former Burnley striker Chris Wood. It remains to be seen if Spurs would make their move now that they know the asking price for the 24-year-old.

Tottenham target Nikola Milenkovic was subjected to an enquiry from Newcastle.

Spurs to sign Milenkovic?

The Serb has been excellent for his side over the past few years and has carried over his good form to this season as well. His displays have contributed to his side challenging for a European spot this season.

The Serie A defender has made 20 appearances this term and has earned five clean sheets in the process. He is a defensive colossus for his side and is known for his ability to read the game well and shut out attacking plays.

That’s not all, as, with 195cm in height, the Serbian is a towering presence at the back and offers a threat during set-pieces as well. Even though the North London club have fared well overall in defence, we could use some additions, considering how Antonio Conte’s partiality for a three-man rearguard.

The interest from Eddie Howe’s side could spell trouble for us due to the recent ownership takeover at St.James’ Park. Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy will need to take them head-on if we have ambitions to gun for glory in the coming years.

Conte has proved several times before that he is the man to bring in success if he gets sufficient backing from the board. Now it is up to them to do their task as we have not yet brought in signings despite the winter transfer window nearing its halfway mark.
