According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement with Ange Postecoglou to become their next manager.

Postecoglou will arrive on a two year contract with an option included for a further year which could make the deal valid until June 2026. The next stage is to find a deal with Celtic.

The Australian manager has led Celtic to a treble this season, winning the Scottish Premier League, the Scottish FA Cup and the Scottish League Cup. Postecoglou’s team have won 41 games out of a possible 53 this term, drawing five and losing only seven.

The 57-year-old was born in Athens but is an Australian citizen. His previous jobs have been in Australia, managing Australia’s under 17 and under 20 teams, South Melbourne, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and the Australian senior national team. He also managed current J-League champions Yokohama F. Marinos before joining Celtic in 2021.

Since joining Celtic, Postecoglou’s profile has been raised due to his excellent treble winning campaign, and the atmosphere he has bred around the Celtic camp.
