Tottenham could still look to sign another centre back and a creative midfielder if they can offload players, according to The Express journalist Ryan Taylor when speaking to GIVEMESPORT last week.

Spurs have already signed six players this summer, but Antonio Conte is still hopeful of making further additions before September’s transfer deadline.

What business have Tottenham already completed?

Following the £150m injection of cash that was announced at the end of last season, it always had the makings of an exciting transfer window for the north Londoners, especially after they pipped Arsenal to fourth place.

And up to now, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy have delivered for Conte, bringing him six new arrivals which should all add competition and quality to his squad.

Free transfers Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic were the first men through the door, before Yves Bissouma became the first cash signing on board when he arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Richarlison soon followed before defenders Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence signed from Barcelona and Middlesbrough.

Despite improving in various positions across the pitch, Spurs still lack a no.10, while Joe Rodon’s departure and uncertainty over Japhet Tanganga’s future could see them bring in another defender.

What did Taylor say about Tottenham?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “There’s still a lot of money to play with at Spurs and I think when you take into account that more players could move on like [Sergio] Reguilon, [Giovani] Lo Celso and [Tanguy] Ndombele, I think that Spurs will push to sign another centre back and another creative midfielder.”

Which midfielder could Tottenham sign?

Spurs are interested in James Maddison, although Leicester are reluctant to sell, especially with Youri Tielemans and Wesley Fofana’s futures both in serious doubt.

Should Tottenham have to look elsewhere, Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo is another option, with reports suggesting that Conte’s side have renewed their interest in the playmaker, who’s set to be available for £42m.

Conte saw the midfielder first hand in Spurs’ pre-season game against Roma last weekend and is keen on bringing him to the Premier League.

Zaniolo has undoubted quality with 22 goals and 15 assists in the Italian capital, although Tottenham might have concerns over spending more than £40m on a player who’s suffered two long term injuries, with the 23-year-old missing more than 80 games in recent years having suffered an ACL rupture on two occasions.
