Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of agreeing personal terms with David Raya

According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are on the verge of agreeing personal terms with David Raya, the highly-rated Brentford goalkeeper who has caught the attention of many Premier League clubs, including the London giants.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper has firmly established himself as a reliable presence between the sticks, showcasing his shot-stopping abilities and commanding presence in the box. With Tottenham Hotspur looking to revamp their squad this summer, securing Raya’s services would be a significant step forward in their rebuilding process.

The need for a quality replacement for club legend Hugo Lloris has become evident this season. While Lloris has undoubtedly been a stalwart for the club over the years, his performances have been marred by a series of costly errors.

The 36-year-old Frenchman’s decline is evident, and it’s clear that Tottenham need a fresh face to take up the mantle as the first-choice goalkeeper. Raya, having gained valuable experience in the Premier League with Brentford, is well-suited to step into the role at Tottenham and make an immediate impact.

His shot-stopping abilities and excellent command of the penalty area make him an ideal candidate to bolster Spurs’ defensive line. According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Brentford are demanding a hefty £40 million for Raya’s services.

Given that Raya has refused to sign an extension with Brentford, the Championship side finds themselves under pressure to cash in on their star goalkeeper this summer. With just one year remaining on his contract, Raya’s value will decrease significantly if they fail to sell him during this transfer window.
