Tottenham now looking to beat AC Milan to signing of 24-year-old midfielder | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs who are showing an interest in the Fenerbahce midfielder Sebastian Szymanski.

The Lilywhites have already been linked with a number of midfielders ahead of the summer window as it appears to be an area of improvement for Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs have strong options to choose from with the likes of James Maddison and Yves Bissouma, but European football next season may require stronger squad depth.

Tottenham monitoring Sebastian Szymanski

According to a report from Turkey by Fanatik, Tottenham are one of several clubs who are plotting a possible move for the Polish midfielder in the summer.

Along with Spurs, the Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Leverkusen, and the Italian giants, AC Milan, have also been linked with the 24-year-old.

The report claims Szymanski is actually one of Milan’s top targets for the upcoming transfer window, but Spurs lie in waiting.

It’s said Postecoglou’s side have been keeping an eye on Szymanski for a while now and are considering a summer swoop over the coming months.

Spurs wanting midfield reinforcement

Ahead of the summer window, it seems the midfield is an area which Postecoglou is keen to add to with various players already being linked.

Conor Gallagher is believed to be a player who is high on Tottenham’s radar as his contract situation continues to roll on at Chelsea.

Another player who has recently been linked with a potential move to N17 is the Everton youngster, James Garner.

However, it is unlikely to be a summer of just arrivals in the midfield with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future under serious doubt.

As the Dane’s place in the starting XI has been lost under Postecoglou, he is expected to move on if the Australian remains at the club.

There may still be a number of months before the summer window opens, it is apparent the names are beginning to stack up for the Lilywhites.
