Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a summer move for Real Madrid starlet Arda Guler.

Real Madrid snapped up the Turkish wonderkid last summer as he joined from Fenerbahçe.

The midfielder netted eight goals and provided seven assists during the 2022-23 campaign before sealing a £17 million move to the Spanish capital.

Yet, the 18-year-old has struggled for minutes under Carlo Ancelotti this term.

Guler has managed just four appearances in all competitions and it’s led to suggestions the youngster could head out the door this summer.

And Spanish outlet Sport claims that Tottenham are one of the sides interested in signing Guler.

Sport reports that Madrid are aware that a lack of minutes for Guler could delay the progression of a ‘tremendous’ footballer.

As a result, several teams are keeping an eye on the youngster’s progress, including Spurs.

Indeed, Spurs and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be the first teams to position themselves for the signing of Guler.

Yet, AC Milan are also keen and Madrid like the idea of Guler making the switch to San Siro on a temporary basis.

Guler has already been lauded as a ‘superstar’ and looks set for a bright future in the game. But it would be a surprise to see Madrid offload the youngster permanently after signing him last summer.

Much like the La Liga giants did with Brahim Diaz, they are likely to prefer a temporary move away from the club.

We doubt this kind of deal would interest Tottenham unless they could snap up Guler and insert a hefty buy-back clause for Madrid. We’ve seen Spurs do a similar deal for Sergio Reguilon with Madrid just four years ago.

Yet, after signing another talented young midfielder in Lucas Bergvall, a move for Guler may not be at the top of Tottenham’s priority list for the time being.
