Tottenham are not contemplating a bid for Brighton right back Tariq Lamptey.

The youngster has emerged as one of the most promising right backs in the Premier League in recent seasons.

Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked to Lamptey by the British press in recent weeks.

However, Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has another view.

He said: "Tottenham have had an interest in Tariq Lamptey long-term, as a lot of clubs have done.

"Not at the moment though I'm told. I've asked about him in the last few days and I was told that this interest is in the past and it's not something that anybody is really aware of right now."
