Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Leicester City on Sunday is a chance to reignite their Premier League campaign despite ongoing injury concerns.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have endured a difficult spell in the league, collecting just two points from their last six matches.

However, the squad’s confidence may have received a boost following Thursday’s 3-2 Europa League victory over Hoffenheim, with Heung-min Son leading the charge with a brace.

That result extended Tottenham’s impressive form in cup competitions, where they have secured wins over Liverpool and Manchester United in the League Cup, as well as progressing in the FA Cup.

Translating those knockout performances into Premier League consistency remains a challenge.

Injuries continue to be a thorn in Tottenham’s side. Key players such as Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Dominic Solanke are unavailable, while several others remain doubtful.

This has placed significant strain on the squad, forcing Postecoglou to rely heavily on younger players and those returning from injury.

Richarlison is gradually being reintegrated after a long absence. While not yet at his sharpest, his presence offers some optimism for Spurs, who desperately need firepower in Solanke’s absence.

Leicester’s plight is no less severe. Sitting 19th in the league and winless in seven matches, they are fighting to avoid relegation.

However, their dismal away form – failing to keep a clean sheet and losing five consecutive matches on the road – makes their trip to London a daunting task.

The Foxes’ defensive vulnerabilities, particularly at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where they have conceded three or more goals in their last five league defeats, offer the hosts a chance to exploit weaknesses.

However, Postecoglou must ensure his side approached this match with focus and urgency, given Tottenham’s precarious position in 15th place.

With an injury-hit squad and a congested schedule, Spurs must show resilience and build momentum to pull themselves out of their domestic rut.
