Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge reckons that Tottenham have a major concern over Ryan Sessegnon's injuries.

The 21-year-old hasn't played since August and is set to be been ruled out "for a while" according to Nuno Espirito Santo following his latest setback.

Following a successful season on loan at Hoffenheim, where he scored twice and chipped in with three assists in 23 appearances, he returned to Tottenham and was hoping to finally kick-start his Spurs career after two frustrating years prior.

Sessegnon started both Europa Conference League play-off games against Pacos de Ferreira and was on the bench for the Premier League victories over Wolves and Watford.

Having got himself fit again, the former Fulham man went away with England Under-21s over the September international break but suffered a knock in training and returned to Tottenham.

Having been out for more than six weeks, he appeared to be close to a return to action, but Nuno confirmed ahead of Thursday's defeat in Vitesse that he won't be available for the game in Holland and is facing further time on the sidelines.

With just 14 appearances under his belt since making the £25m move from Fulham in 2019, Bridge's patience is wearing thin with Sessegnon.

What did Bridge say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Sessegnon, that's a major concern because he's not getting fit. What can you do when the player is always injured.

"And it seems to be a lot of the time his hamstring, which is a real concern."

Does Sessegnon have a future at Tottenham?

Even if Sessegnon was fully fit and available, it's difficult to see exactly where he fits in at Spurs.

His ability to play in more than one position should help his case for more regular minutes, but he's competing with the likes of Heung Min Son, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, and Bryan Gil in the wide areas, which is a tall order, whilst he's essentially third-choice left-back behind Sergio Regulion and Ben Davies.

Did Tottenham Hotspur sign Moussa Sissoko on transfer deadline day in 2016?

Yes No

Sessegnon doesn't turn 22 until May, so he's still got time on his side, but he's yet to show any kind of form to suggest that he's worth the fee that Spurs paid for him or he deserves a chance under Nuno.
