Transfer News: Tottenham interested in Nicolo Barella

According to transfer news from Football.london, Tottenham are interested in signing Inter Milan and Italy star Nicolo Barella. Chelsea are said to be the other club that are interested in the signing of the 23-year-old midfielder.

Barella has been one of the most consistent players for Inter Milan. He played a huge part in Inter’s Serie A triumph last season. He was loaned out to Cagliari in the summer of 2019 but became a regular fixture in Antonio Conte’s side since his return to Milan last summer.

A part of the Italy national team for the Euros, Barella has shown considerable guile and has formed a good partnership with Jorginho and Manuel Locatelli. Italy have won all three of their group games, with Barella impressing equally in the first two. He remained an unused substitute in the last game.

Spurs did not enjoy the best of seasons last time. Inconsistencies were a huge part of that as the side looked out of ideas on so many occasions. Hence, it has been no surprise to see the club being linked with Barella. The midfielder is a creative influence and also has the odd goal up his sleeve.

With the likes of Moussa Sissoko ageing and Tanguy Ndombele not exactly being able to keep up his levels of performance, it makes sense to go after a star signing like Barella. The Italian can no doubt be a huge improvement to the side.
