Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon – who is currently out on loan at Brentford – has taken to X to provide a hilarious reply to a recent post from Michael Owen.

The Spaniard has had a turbulent few years in north London, and it seems as if his stay could be coming to an end.

Ange Postecoglou has shown little interest in him since his arrival over the summer having already been sent out on loan twice this term.

What Sergio Reguilon said on X

Reguilon issued a joking response to a post on X by Michael Owen wishing his son a Happy Birthday on Tuesday morning.

Along with a birthday message, the former Liverpool striker posted a photo of himself with his son which saw a number of people suggest the latter looked similar to the Spurs defender.

Adding to the replies to the post, Reguilon replied simply: “Dad?”

Reguilon’s days at Spurs may be numbered

The 27-year-old landed in north London in the summer of 2020 from Real Madrid for a fee believed to be in the region of £32m.

It was a signing which excited many as Spurs saw the left-back arrive alongside the returning Gareth Bale from the Spanish capital.

However, four years on, it is not a move which many can look back on fondly.

With just over one year remaining on his current deal with the Lilywhites, Reguilon has been able to rack up a total of just 67 appearances across all competitions.

Having failed to really make any sort of impression outside of his first two seasons in north London, the Spaniard has been sent out on a number of loan deals.

After returning from half a season with Manchester United, Reguilon has recently joined Brentford for the remainder of the campaign.

With Destiny Udogie impressing at left-back, it is hard to see how he could last another summer transfer window at Spurs.
