Tottenham Hotspur attacker Timo Werner will not be in the Germany squad for this summer’s European Championship, it has been claimed in Germany.
The forward joined Spurs on loan from RB Leipzig in January in order to play more football and make the squad for the European Championship in his home country.
He scored twice and registered three assists for Tottenham before picking up a thigh injury at the start of this month, which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Werner was expected to make a full recovery before the start of the European Championship next month.
However, according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland (via Fussball Transfers), Werner has failed to make the cut for the Germany squad.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann is set to announce the squad for the European Championship later today.
The Spurs attacker’s name will not be on the final list despite his attempts to win back the coach’s favour by getting game time at Spurs.
