In a recent report from Express, it is stated that Tottenham Hotspur are in heavy pursuit of Everton star forward Richarlison. The Brazilian has been on Tottenham’s radar for quite a while now but a price tag exceeding £50m is understood as a huge sum to pay for him.

It has also been mentioned that Richarlison has decided to move away from the Merseyside club amid interests from both Tottenham and Chelsea.

Richarlison’s Impressive Campaign For Everton This Season

Richarlison has experienced a solid campaign in the attacking third for the Toffees, as he has managed to consistently perform at Goodison Park this season. He has scored 11 goals and created 5 assists in 33 matches across all competitions.

The Brazilian sensation has been reliable and productive in the Toffees’ attack, as evident by his numbers averaging 2.4 shots, 1.0 key passes, 1.3 tackles and 1.3 dribbles per game in the English first division. However, he has been sloppy in distributing the ball to his teammates after completing only 63.4% of his attempted passes in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Antonio Conte Make A Bid For Him?

Richarlison has been a major part of Everton’s frontline. Despite being a forward, he likes to put his foot into a tackle contributing heavily on the defensive end. He excels at creating a yard of space for himself and can make some decent runs in the final third producing clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities. He can even chip in with a few assists by setting up his teammates in front of the opposition’s goal.

The 25-year-old would prove to be a decent cover for Conte’s attacking trio but will remain overshadowed by Harry Kane. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Richarlison finds himself on the bench during important fixtures.

The Brazilian forward wishes to play in the Champions League with a top club and Spurs have earned a spot in the European competition. So everything fits just right as the Lilywhites remain more than interested in signing him but an asking price exceeding £50 million is a major put-off.

Everton is in no rush to sell him for any less, so the Spurs would have to pay a hefty sum if they wish to acquire his services. Considering the amount involved it wouldn’t be wise of Conte to make such a deal, so the Italian tactician should stay put until the Toffees lower their asking price.
