Tottenham Hotspur may have received a boost at the beginning of the January transfer window.
The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that their former managing director of football Fabio Paratici will continue to assist Tottenham in the transfer market this month.
Paratici left his role at Spurs back in April last year after losing an appeal against his 30-month ban from football.
Despite the controversy surrounding his exit, the Italian has proven to be an exceptional operator in the transfer market for Spurs.

He’s responsible for bringing in the likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie – all of whom are playing key roles under current boss Ange Postecoglou.
Parts of the former Juventus man’s ban were also lifted last year, which led to him being allowed to advise Tottenham on a ‘consultancy basis’ over the summer, according to The Daily Mail.
And recent reports suggest he will take up a similar role this month, which can only be good news for Spurs.
The Telegraph reports that Paratici will continue to assist Spurs this month, despite the recent arrivals of Scott Munn and Johan Lange.
Munn is currently working as chief football officer while Lange joined from Aston Villa as a technical director back in October.
The report notes that Paratici will work alongside Lange over the coming weeks to assist Tottenham in their bid to sign a new centre-back, midfielder and forward.
While Paratici’s record in the transfer market at Tottenham was hardly flawless, he certainly boasts more hits than misses.
He’s continuously shown he has a keen eye for talented players and his work at Spurs arguably looks even more impressive after Sarr and Udogie’s emergence this season.

Of course, he also worked with the club over the summer in a window where they snapped up players like Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Micky van de Ven.
How much influence Paratici had in these particular signings remains unclear. But it will surely benefit the club to have his assistance over the coming weeks.
Before Paratici was hired in the summer of 2021, Tottenham were going through a difficult spell when it came to their recruitment. High-profile blunders such as Tanguy Ndombele had contributed significantly to their drop-off after Mauricio Pochettino’s exit.
While it remains unclear whether or not Paratici will return to Spurs after his ban ends, the Italian chief has proven himself to have a keen eye for talented players and it has benefited the North Londoners over the past two and a half years.
