Tottenham Hotspur have made an incredible start to their Premier League campaign under Antonio Conte. The 23-year-old Azzurri international progressed through the academy ranks of AS Roma before joining I Neroverdi. He made his senior debut in December 2017 in a Coppa Italia fixture but was loaned out to Ascoli in Serie B for the following campaign.

After an impressive spell with the Woodpeckers, Frattesi joined Empoli and Monza to continue his development in the second tier of Italian football. His exquisite form as a ‘number 8’ saw him securing a starting role in Sassuolo midfield. So far he has fired in 6 goals and laid on 4 more in 47 appearances for the Serie A outfit.

The youngster has exhibited his mastery in terms of carrying the ball forward from the deep, dribbling past the opponents in the centre of the pitch as well as retaining possession under pressure. His vision and range of passing should help him script transition in Conte’s counter-attacking system.

However, it won’t be easy to break into Spurs’ first team instantly. They are stacked in the middle of the park with Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Oliver Skipp challenging each other for gametime across four competitions.
