Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in a linked goalkeeper is ‘not going any further’, despite the club looking at shot-stoppers they can bring in this month and having looked at him, according to football.london.
Spurs have received constant criticism for their up and down results which see them sitting just eleventh in the Premier League table.
Ange Postecoglou’s approach has also been questioned but injury issues have played a big part in Tottenham’s inconsistent form under the Australian.
Their defensive injuries have been very difficult to deal with and Guglielmo Vicario’s long-term injury has not helped either.
Second-choice custodian Fraser Forster has been Postecoglou’s option in Vicario’s absence, but Spurs could sign another goalkeeper this month.
Recently it was suggested that Wolves’ second-choice goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is a player who could be a potential new face at Spurs.
Those links now, however, have been played down as it has been suggested that Spurs will not go ahead with their interest in the Wolves man.
Now it remains to be seen where the north Londoners will lay their eyes on as they are expected to bring in a goalkeeper this month.
