Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Manchester City over a potential deal for Brazilian winger Savinho in a move that could reshape their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Sources close to the discussions indicate a package valued at around €50million (£43.3m, $58.2m) is under consideration, with both clubs engaged in constructive dialogue. Although City are not actively seeking to sell the 21-year-old, they are receptive to the idea should the player express a desire to move on.
Pep Guardiola has long maintained a policy of allowing players to leave if they wish, a stance that could prove pivotal in negotiations.
“City are not actively looking to sell Savinho but he is open to the possibility and Pep Guardiola tends not to stand in the way of player who wants to leave,” reported David Ornstein in The Athletic.

Savinho’s career trajectory has been rapid and impressive. Beginning at Atlético Mineiro, his early performances caught the eye of European scouts, leading to a move to French side Troyes, part of the City Football Group (CFG) network.
A short loan to PSV Eindhoven saw him gain valuable experience in the Eredivisie before joining Girona for the 2023-24 season. That campaign proved transformative, as Savinho struck 11 goals and played a decisive role in securing the Catalan club’s first-ever Champions League qualification with a top-four La Liga finish.
This success earned him a place at Manchester City, the flagship of CFG, in the summer of 2024. Despite fierce competition for places, he featured 48 times under Guardiola last season, scoring three goals and adding depth to their attacking rotation.
Tottenham’s interest reflects a clear ambition to inject pace, creativity and direct attacking threat into their side. Managerial strategy and squad building appear aligned, with the club determined to challenge on multiple fronts.

An agreement has yet to be finalised but work continues behind the scenes as Spurs aim to secure the signing. Savinho, who has one goal in 13 appearances for Brazil, would offer versatility across the forward line and the potential to develop further in the Premier League’s demanding environment.
From City’s perspective, the potential transfer would create room within their squad structure and possibly free resources for reinvestment. While the Brazilian is valued internally, his role could be limited by the depth of Guardiola’s current options.
With a contract running until June 2028, City hold a strong negotiating position. However, the club’s openness to player requests could ultimately pave the way for Tottenham to complete one of the more intriguing moves of the summer.
