In a recent report, The Independent mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Flamengo forward Pedro as a target for this summer transfer window. It has been stated that Spurs have set their sights on the Brazilian striker this summer.
Pedro is having an outstanding campaign at the Brazilian club after he put in a series of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. The Brazilian centre-forward has banged in 26 goals and grabbed four assists in 35 matches for Flamengo this season across all fronts.
The 26-year-old has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 1.4 shots and 0.6 key passes per 90 minutes in the Brasileirao. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the final third as he has completed 79.3% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Brazilian club will run out in 2027. Hence, Spurs would have to launch a big offer if they want to recruit Pedro this summer.

Pedro can create a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He has got the vision to engineer some promising chances for others around him in the opponent’s half.
The Brazilian talent is a technically gifted footballer who can be a prolific presence in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing well on the pitch. However, the jury is still out on whether he can make a smooth transition to life in English football.
At the moment, Pedro is playing at a high level which makes him a worthy target for Spurs to pursue this summer. We can expect the Flamengo star to add more firepower to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He might even help the North London club challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League next season.
At 26, Pedro is about to enter the peak years of his playing career and might struggle to adapt to the high intensity of English football. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting him, so Spurs should focus on moving in for him ahead of the new campaign.
