At the moment, the 27-year-old’s current contract with the Bees will expire at the end of next season. Thus, he will be allowed to leave the Gtech Community Stadium side in the upcoming transfer window.

Brentford signed Raya in the summer of 2019 from Blackburn Rovers. Immediately, the shot-stopper caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays in between the sticks for the West London club.

For the 2021/22 campaign, the Bees gained promotion to the Premier League. Subsequently, the Spaniard was pivotal in the Gtech Community Stadium side’s bid to avoid relegation.

This season, the 27-year-old has gone from strength to strength. Brentford also finished the season strongly in ninth position, just one point behind Tottenham in the league.

Spurs have trusted Lloris for over a decade now. However, the French national’s displays over the last few years have been deteriorating. The veteran goalkeeper’s age seems to be catching up to him.

The 36-year-old’s current contract at the North London side still has a year left in it. However, the shot-stopper recently revealed that he was open to parting ways with the Lilywhites in the coming weeks.

Raya has now proven himself in the English top flight. The Spaniard is one of the most promising and established keepers out there. But is the 27-year-old the heir to Spurs’ number one spot? Only time will tell.
