Tottenham Hotspur Could Bring In This Young Inter Milan Defender: The Right Choice?
The 4th Official
In a recent report, the Mirror stated that Tottenham Hotspur could bring in Italian centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, in what would be a reunion with Antonio Conte. It has been mentioned that the 23-year-old has been shown keen interest from Antonio Conte so much that he insists on getting his signature if they end up with a Champions League place which could get them more funds to materialize the deal, as the summer transfer window commences.
The Italian Defender has one goal and three assists to his name from 46 appearances this season – in what has been an impressive campaign for the youngster.
The Italy international has had a prolific season so far averaging 1.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 1.8 clearances, and 3.5 long balls per game this season across all fronts. Bastoni has even distributed the ball impressively after making 89.3% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).

Bastoni has no significant weaknesses. The 1.9m tall defender is a promising prospect at the backline. He has the ability to time his tackles and is never afraid of putting his foot into a tackle, on top of which he can even distribute the ball accurately from the backline.
The left-footed defender is just 23 currently, which goes without saying that he has plenty of room to improve his skills. Thus, he would be a terrific signing for the London side this summer.
The centre-back will admittedly add more depth to Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte’s squad. He has already played under Conte and this time he could very well play on a high level with Champions League football underway. Conte would be wise to bring him on board as the summer transfer window commences.
