Tottenham Hotspur are close to securing the signing of Manchester City youngster Daniel Batty, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs are actively looking to sign a few players who can make an immediate impact for the first team before Monday’s transfer deadline, but they are also looking to sign young talents for their academy ranks.
Romano says that Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old talent, and he is currently undergoing his medical.
Tottenham are paying a £500k transfer fee, and the deal also includes future add-ons with a sell-on percentage.
Romano wrote on X: “Tottenham to complete a deal for the Academy as they have agreed to sign 18 year old talent Daniel Batty from Manchester City. £500k transfer fee and future add ons with sell-on percentage. Medical ongoing.”
Batty joined City at the age of eight and progressed through each age group as a key figure in every midfield he’s played in.
Batty looks like an exciting talent and Spurs are paying a handsome fee to secure his signature. He will join the academy ranks at the North London club.
Spurs are expected to be very busy towards the closing stages of the transfer window.
Daniel Levy is ready to spend money to help Ange Postecoglou sign new players. Tottenham are ready to submit a bid in the region of £50 million for Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel, who wants to leave the German giants in search of regular game time.
