In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to launch a move for Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson this summer. It has been stated that Spurs are open to making a €30m offer to sign the Danish centre-back.

Nelsson’s Impressive Run Of Form In Turkish Football

The 24-year-old is having a solid campaign at the Turkish club as he has been responsible for producing a series of impressive displays at the heart of their defence. Nelsson has made 12 appearances for his current employers this season across various competitions.

The Danish talent has been a rock at the back and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 0.6 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 2.2 clearances per game in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been careful when distributing possession from inside his half after completing 87.3% of his attempted passes in the Turkish top flight (stats via whoscored).

Nelsson is under contract at the Super Lig club will expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, Spurs would have to make a decent offer if they want to convince Galatasaray to part ways with their prized asset.

Is Nelsson A Decent Choice For Tottenham Hotspur?

Nelsson is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger quickly to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive. Nelsson is primarily a central defender but can also operate as a defensive midfielder if told to do so by his manager.

The Turkish talent can use his strong 1.85m frame to dominate the opposition in the air. He is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.

We can expect Nelsson to add more bite and steel to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next year.

With all things considered, Nelsson would be a good choice for Spurs to pursue when the transfer window commences once again at the start of January. However, it remains to be seen whether the defender can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.
