In a recent report, Football.London claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are planning a summer move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto. It has been mentioned that Spurs are set to rival Arsenal in the race to land the Portuguese wide player in the upcoming transfer window.

Neto’s Impressive Run of Form In Premier League Football This Season

Neto has enjoyed a decent campaign at the Molineux Stadium after putting in a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. However, he could be sidelined for the remainder of this campaign due to a recent injury.

The Portuguese talent has been involved in 23 matches for Wolves this season, scoring three times and picking up 11 assists in multiple competitions. Neto has done well to average 1.8 shots, 2.0 key passes and 1.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the final third after completing 83.5% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the West Midlands club will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, it won’t be easy for Spurs to snap him up on a cut-price deal later this year.

What Will Neto Add To Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?

Neto can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He has got the pace to cause a lot of problems for his marker out on the flanks. The Portugal international can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and can set up some meaningful opportunities for his teammates to find the back of the net.

Neto mainly plays as a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or function in the number ten position if needed. We can expect him to add more pace and creativity to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s attack.

At 24, Neto has his best years ahead of him which makes him a good, long-term choice for Spurs to pursue this summer. He is good enough to help the North London club compete for a top-four spot once again in the Premier League next season. Therefore, Postecoglu would be wise to go all out to bring him on board at the end of this season.
