In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, journalist Ben Jacobs mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are in the running to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Pedro Neto. Neto said,
“I think that Arsenal and Spurs are more likely destinations for Neto, at this point. We know the Tottenham interest is historical, and I would expect Arsenal to consider Neto this summer as one of a few targets in that position.
“But both of the north London clubs will also be well aware that Wolves – because he is still well contracted – will be looking for a club-record sale.
“They will be very firm on price. You can understand why, in an inflated market, where many attackers and midfielders have gone for in excess of £70million.”
Neto has enjoyed a productive campaign at the West Midlands club as he has produced a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Portuguese talent has done well to score three goals and secure 11 assists in 20 matches for Wolves this season across all competitions.
The 23-year-old has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.0 shots, 2.2 key passes, 1.9 crosses and 1.8 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 83.3% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Wolves will expire in the summer of 2027 which would make it tough for Spurs to sign him on the cheap this summer.

Neto is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range.
The Portuguese talent has added plenty of assists to his game but needs to find a way to be more clinical in front of the opponent’s goal. Still, there is no denying that Neto would be a terrific acquisition for Spurs if Angelos Postecoglu can devise a way to bring him on board in the summer.
We can expect Neto to add more pace and creativity to Tottenham‘s frontline and help the North London club compete for some major honours over the next few seasons. At 23, the best is yet to come from the Portuguese attacker, so Postecoglu would do well to snap him up this year.
