In a recent report, journalist Sebastien Vidal mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are in the mix to land Manchester United playmaker Alejandro Garnacho. It has been stated that Spurs are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Argentine attacker this summer.

Garnacho’s Decent Record In The Premier League

Garnacho caught the eye at times for Man United in the final third but struggled to help them find consistency in the Premier League. The Argentine talent was involved in 58 matches for the Red Devils last season, netting 11 goals and earning ten goals in various competitions.

The 20-year-old proved his worth in and around the opposition penalty area as he averaged 3.44 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he only kept 34.5% of his attempts on target. Garnacho distributed the ball relatively well after completing 78.9% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).

Garnacho is under contract at the Mancunian club until the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for Tottenham to snap him up on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Is Garnacho A Decent Choice For Tottenham Hotspur?

Garnacho is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can use his quickness to get in behind the opposition defence. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can strike the ball with venom from long range.

The Argentine sensation can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a winger on either flank if required.

Garnacho would bring more pace and goals to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank’s attack. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season.

At 20, the future looks quite bright for Garnacho as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is already good enough to help Spurs challenge across all fronts in the future. Therefore, Garnacho would be a great choice for Tottenham to consider in this summer transfer period as long as they can get him for a reasonable fee.
