In a recent edition of The Daily Briefing, journalist Christian Falk revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are facing stiff competition for Red Bull Leipzig playmaker Dani Olmo. It has been stated that Spurs would have to rival Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to land the Spanish attack but will have to pay €60m to get a deal done for him this summer.
Olmo is having a decent campaign at the German club after he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Spanish talent has participated in 22 matches for RB Leipzig this season, scoring eight goals and picking up five assists on all fronts.
The 25-year-old has been a consistent performer for his team in the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.1 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in and around the opposition penalty area, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 79.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Olmo’s current deal at Leipzig will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Tottenham would have to launch a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting the Spanish sensation at the end of this campaign.

Olmo can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range and can create some decent chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He can even make a few driving runs with the ball in the opposition half.
The Spaniard is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a winger on either flank if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in Premier League football if Spurs manage to snap him up this summer.
Olmo would bring more firepower to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s frontline. He is more than capable of competing with James Maddison for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
At 25, Olmo is about to enter his prime which makes him a great fit for the North London club‘s needs in the long run. With all things considered, Postecoglu would be wise to try everything in his power to sign the Leipzig star in the upcoming transfer period.
