Premier League giants are already circling Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, after an impressive season in Segunda. His saves have been a key part of their promotion back to La Liga this year, and he has earned himself a spot in the Spain Olympic team for Paris 2024 this summer.

Garcia, 23, won the number one job this season ahead of Fernando Pacheco, who was signed to occupy it. He is also expected to be number one for the Spain side at the Paris Olympics. Gerard Romero of Jijantes (via MD) is reporting that Arsenal are interested in Garcia, while Diario AS assure that London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing Garcia.

Should either of them want to do so, Espanyol will require something around his release clause of €25m, although it’s noted that Spurs could already be in talks with Espanyol for him. He recently signed a new deal with Los Pericos until 2028, meaning they have little reason to accept a reduced fee. Real Madrid were also thought to hold an interest at one stage, but it does not seem they will move for him.

Los Blancos are keeping an eye out for a goalkeeper in case Andriy Lunin decides to exit the club this summer, while at Spurs he would also likely be a back-up to Guglielmo Vicario – Fraser Forster is 36 and could move on. Aaron Ramsdale could well be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium, having lost his place to David Raya.
