Tottenham hero Darren Anderton has urged Dele Alli to leave.

Despite starting brightly under manager Antonio Conte, it now looks as if Alli's seven-year stay at the club could soon come to an end.

“I think a move away would be the best thing for both the club and the player," says Anderton, who spent 12 years at Spurs between 1992 and 2004.

“Dele needs to be playing football, he needs to be on the pitch

“He needs to be reminding Gareth Southgate what he's capable of.

“He has gone stale. I want to see him out there scoring and creating goals. I don't just want to see him on social media.

“Dele should be a key player for this team, he's now at an age where he should be one of the standout stars in the Premier League.

“But that's not happening. Why, I'm not too sure, but I think that getting a fresh start and making a move could be a very good thing for him.

“He needs to go somewhere where he can show what he can do.

“But the most important thing for him is that he's starting every week and enjoying his football."
