PSG will face Tottenham Hotspur on August 13 in the UEFA Super Cup, kicking off the 2025-26 season with a chance to win a major trophy.

Tottenham might be missing a key player for the match and are looking to boost their squad ahead of taking on the reigning treble winners. While PSG cruised to the FIFA Club World Cup final and dominated last season, Chelsea’s strong summer showing proved they’re not unbeatable.

Spurs will not have Son Heung-min as the South Korea international left the Premier League club recently to join MLS side LAFC. Nonetheless, PSG will reportedly be without a key player of their own.

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reports that João Neves is suspended for the match against Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup and against Nantes in Ligue 1 following his red card in the Club World Cup final. Since the restart, PSG has put in place a tailored program, taking the suspension into account.

While PSG won’t have Neves, they could have a new No. 1 goalkeeper between the pipes against Tottenham. On Saturday, the Parisians announced the arrival of Lucas Chevalier, who will replace Gianluigi Donnarumma as the starter, but it remains to be seen if it will be for this Super Cup match.
